4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

1 And now, Oh Israel, hearken unto the statues and unto the ordinances, which I teach you, to do them; that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which Jehovah, the God of your fathers, giveth you. 2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of Jehovah your God which I command you.

5 Every word of God is tried: He is a shield unto them that take refuge in him. 6 Add thou not unto His words, Lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
