1. IN ORDER TO BE SAVED FROM PAST SINS, AND BECOME A CHILD OF GOD, WE MUST:
a. BELIEVE: JOHN 8:24,58; MARK 16:15,16
Ø Is there authority from Christ to teach that we are saved by 'faith only'?
b. REPENT: ACTS 17:30,31; LUKE 13:3; ACTS 2:38
c. CONFESS CHRIST: ROMANS 10:9,10; MATTHEW 10:32,33
d. BE BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST (This is immersion in water) FOR the remission of past sins; JOHN 3:3-6; MARK 16:16; ACTS 2:38; 8:35-39; 10:47,48; 11:13,14; 16:14,15,30-33; 18:8; 19:3-5.
Ø Is there authority from Christ to teach that we can get 'into' Christ by praying a 'sinner's prayer', and then He will save us?
Ø Yes, water baptism saves us, because God says it does! I PETER 3:20,21.
Ø But many today teach us that baptism does NOT save you, it is simply and OUTWARD SIGN OF AN INWARD CHANGE! Where does the New Testament teach this?
Dear Bible student, have you yet done these things according to the authority of your Creator? If not, are you yet saved in His sight? Allow God's Word to answer, not your feelings, or 'think So's'.
